Thirsty Thursday (on Friday) – Racking the Cider

Two weeks ago, I started a hard cider using locally grown apples.

It’s been happily bubbling away in the dining room these past two weeks. It was time, yesterday, to rack it into a smaller carboy.

It’s a lot cloudier than I had expected it to be. But boy, it smells good.

Now it’s all moved. Hopefully, some of the cloudiness will settle out. If not, that’s fine. As soon as I’m certain it’s finished fermenting, I’ll bottle it.

And in the meantime, my honey mead is finally drinkable. What a wonderful Thanksgiving day treat!
